The Compact Smart Meter (KSM) is a space-saving, versatile energy meter that combines metrology and gateway functionality in a single device. With a width of just 4 DIN units, the KSM is ideal for installations where traditional smart meters are too large or impractical—without compromising on measurement accuracy or connectivity.
Designed for 3-phase 4-wire or 3-phase 3-wire networks, the KSM also supports single-phase operation when only one phase is connected. Its integrated LTE-M modem and embedded eSIM enable remote communication with utility back-end systems and energy management platforms.
The KSM features a built-in RS485 port (optional Modbus), an optical configuration port, and P0/P3 interfaces for WAN communication. It does not include a P1 or P2 port. The user interface includes a dot-matrix LCD display, metrology LEDs, and a front-facing button. Spring clamp terminals ensure a quick and secure installation.
Compact yet powerful, the KSM is ideal for non-residential applications such as EV charging infrastructure, traffic installations, and grid monitoring.

The KSM is well-suited for integration into public EV charging poles. Its compact form factor fits within tight enclosures while offering reliable metering and wireless LTE-M communication. This enables real-time monitoring, billing, and grid load management—key to the growing e-mobility sector. - Traffic infrastructure
For applications such as traffic lights, highway signage, or public lighting, the KSM enables accurate and remote energy monitoring. Where enclosures may block signal transmission, the optional external antenna ensures stable LTE-M connectivity. - Remote grid monitoring
Grid operators and energy providers can use the KSM to monitor consumption at substations, transformer cabinets, or local grid segments. The device supports load profiling, dual tariff switching, and secure communication—ideal for remote diagnostics and optimization. - Submetering in solar and industrial setups
In solar farms, commercial buildings, or multi-tenant sites, the KSM can serve as a submeter to measure consumption per unit, installation, or user. Its flexibility and connectivity make it perfect for integration into dynamic energy management systems (EMS).
