What will you do?

As the Head of Innovation and Technology at Xemex, you bridge the gap between innovation, technology, and commerce. You develop and manage innovative products, smart solutions, and new applications in response to the rapidly changing energy market. You closely follow trends and developments in areas such as energy management, translating them into concrete opportunities for our organization and partners.

Alongside the team, you direct our innovation and development strategy and identify growth opportunities in existing and new markets. You have a keen eye for what customers and the market need, using those insights to strengthen our proposition.

You drive technological development and innovation within Xemex. You directly manage a team of three full-time employees (FTEs) and are ultimately responsible for the R&D, product management, project management, and technical support departments. You report directly to the CEO.
Our solutions are at the forefront of high-tech electronics and energy transition. Examples include monitoring and controlling solar panels, charging stations, heat pumps, and smart combinations of these elements within our Energy Management System (EMS) with our Enny cloud platform.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ultimately responsible for the R&D, Project Management, Product Management and Technical Support departments;
  • Leading three direct reports;
  • Drafting and executing a strategic plan for the development of EMS solutions, including market exploration, supplier strategy and positioning;
  • Creative and future-oriented thinking on new products, solutions and technologies;
  • Drafting clear use cases and business cases for both new and existing products;
  • Providing substantive support to sales and (potential) customers on complex projects;
  • Gathering market insights and customer needs and translating them into concrete product ideas;
  • Responsible for market introductions in new geographical areas;
  • Ensuring a structured transfer of product requirements to R&D;
  • Functions as a substantive link and quality controller towards external development partners, including budget responsibility;
  • In collaboration with marketing, responsible for the textual elaboration of our solutions for use on the website, social media and other communication channels.

What do you bring?

  • You have completed an electrotechnical education and have an academic level of work and thought.
  • You have an affinity for commerce and know how to translate technology into customer-oriented solutions.
  • You have at least four years of experience in a comparable management position in a technical or innovative environment.
  • You are analytical, accurate, and solution-oriented with a keen sense of logic.
  • You have strong communication skills and know how to substantiate your views. You are constructively critical and give and receive feedback professionally.
  • You can adapt effortlessly to a dynamic and changing organization. You handle stressful or unexpected situations calmly and decisively.
  • You are available full-time.
  • You have a strong command of the Dutch and English languages, both verbally and in writing.
  • You are willing to travel to our offices in Rosmalen, Netherlands, and Antwerp, Belgium. Living in Brabant is an advantage.
