Make smarter charging decisions with the Xemex Smart Connect series

As part of our mission to make EV charging more efficient and future ready, we’re proud to announce that Peblar chargers now support the Xemex Smart Connect series. We’re committed to making EV charging smarter and futureready. That’s why Peblar chargers now support the Xemex Smart Connect series. With direct insight into realtime energy flows from the smart meter, customers stay firmly in control of how their home energy is managed — charger included.

From measurement to smart charging

Xemex’s Smart Connect dongles provide a reliable way to retrieve data from a smart meter, such as real-time power, consumption and grid injection (solar overproduction energy) data to be utilised by devices like an EV charger.

With this new integration, Peblar chargers can read real-time energy consumption via Xemex’s P1 and TIC interfaces, including the Linky smart meter in France, and provide additional functionality including smart charging, dynamic load balancing, and solar charging¹.

By using a hardwired Ethernet connection, the data source is stable and consistent, avoiding the connection losses sometimes seen with wireless or cloud-dependent alternatives.

Designed for wholesalers, installers, charge point operators (CPOs) and utilities, the main goal of this integration is to improve installation reliability, enhance operational efficiency, and provide access to advanced charging functionalities such as solar energy charging or peak-shaving the charging session when the grid connection limits are reached of the house.

“By integrating Xemex Smart Connect, we strengthen our commitment to reliable and future-proof charging solutions,” says Vincent Gielen, Sales Manager Benelux at Peblar.

Advanced charging functionalities

The Xemex Smart Connect P1 and TIC variants are designed for continuous data streams. The Xemex Smart Connect monitors the connection and ensures consistent readings. This makes the solution suitable for long‑term use, both in homes and in professional environments.

The hard wired connections ensures that the data is always locally available for integration with other systems, allowing customers to maintain control over their own energy flows and avoid dependency on closed platforms.

For the French market, we offer the Smart Connect TIC, designed to work seamlessly with meter data from Linky smart meters that indicate when consumption or feed‑in occurs².

The TIC signal can also be used in certain situations to support charging optimisation in combination with on‑site solar production and improve self‑consumption where applicable³.

Installer-focused installation flow

Installers form an integral part of the Peblar ecosystem and the new Xemex Smart Connect series integration is very easy to install and implement, aligning with Peblar’s overall ambition to keep installation simple.

Peblar chargers can now be delivered pre-commissioned with hardwired P1 or TIC readout, reducing the time and effort needed for installation on site. This ensures the charger is ready to operate immediately.
